Introduction

HTML Cleaner is a batch tool for optimizing (X)HTML documents to reduce their file size. It removes unnecessary characters (extra spaces, quotation marks, optional end tags, etc.) from the documents. The documents’ appearance in the browser will not be changed in any way. This can help you reduce the download time and the server bandwidth usage.

License Type

The program is complete FREEWARE. You can use it free of charge without any restrictions for unlimited period of time.

There are two ways to use HTML Cleaner:

  • To optimize multiple documents using GUI
    Optimize ALL Go All - HTML Cleaner optimization start button for all itemsLaunch the program (for example, from Start->Programs->HTML Cleaner->Launch HTML Cleaner), add desired files or folders to it's main window items list, set optimization options as you need, and click "Optimize ALL" or "Optimize selected" toolbar button. You can also save HTML Cleaner batch optimization project and open it later.

  • To optimize multiple documents from the command line
    First read the command line support help topic. Then you can write script which will invoke HTML Cleaner with appropriate parameters and get benefits from this mode.
